Founded 2009

The beginning of Jasper Ridge Farm

Wendy Mattes founded Jasper Ridge Farm in 2009 after a young girl she was teaching horseback riding got a brain tumor. When the girl could no longer travel, Wendy brought a miniature horse to her home. This experience had a big impact on Wendy, and she realized she wanted to bring similar special experiences to other children in need.

Our Mission and Values

We are dedicated to enriching the lives of children and adults through the comfort and unconditional acceptance that interacting with animals can provide for people. Founded in 2009, Jasper Ridge Farm has been offering therapeutic animal assisted programs free of charge for our clients.

Our animals have endless love and kindness to give. Our programs make a positive difference in the lives of children with special needs or facing life threatening illness, families dealing with homelessness or grief, youth struggling with mental health issues, veterans and active military, many whom suffer from PTSD or traumatic brain injury, adults with disabilities and incarcerated women.
